Andrew Pierce met Ashley Hudson in the same church that they were a part of in Hamburg. They knew then that this was a love union made in heaven. Ashley was 17 and never had a boyfriend, so they took it slow. It was love at first glance. Andrew prayed to God during New Year's Eve, right as 2016 was about to begin. He requested God for one final blessing this year, which was that Ashley accept his proposal and be married. Ashley wanted to design a wedding with a folk woodsy theme, which would truly represent her and Andrew. They incorporated a small amount of everything they loved to create the wedding day. Ashley was raised in a 40-acre farm. From the trail they walked towards the field that the couple said I do in. Ashley has explored and played around on it. Andrew and Ashley have also visited the location many times before they started dating. Personalization became important since almost every aspect involved the DIY of the groom and bride. Andrew and Ashley's father built the seating area and the arch for the wedding ceremony. Ashley painted many of the decorations.
